About Us

At the Primary Care Respiratory Training Centre, we are a dedicated team of nurse education specialists, committed to enhancing the capabilities of primary care nurses in diagnosing, assessing, and managing asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Our mission is to deliver best-in-class education that empowers primary care nurses to excel in providing care and improving outcomes for individuals with asthma and/or COPD.

We take pride in creating high-quality, impactful learning experiences that bolster the primary care nursing community.

Our CPD accredited courses are meticulously designed by our founder and Director of Education, Tracy Kirk, who brings a wealth of experience to our programs.

Tracy has an extensive background in using spirometry in general practice, spanning over 20 years, and has dedicated over 15 years to teaching spirometry performance and interpretation to practice nurses.

MEET OUR FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

Tracy Kirk

Tracy Kirk started off as a practice nurse in 1992. She was a lecturer on the BSc Specialist Practitioner Course at Manchester University teaching Chronic Disease Management.

In 2002 she set up what is now the Primary Care Respiratory Training Centre and has worked across the UK on large scale primary care based respiratory projects designing and delivering bespoke training packages to CCGs and Health Boards.

Tracy has mentored over 500 practice nurses and reviewed well over 10,000 Asthma and COPD patients in her time as a primary care based respiratory nurse consultant.

She uses her vast experience, knowledge and understanding of what it is like to deliver respiratory care in General Practice to develop educational content that is 100% fit for practice.
